Start with what you have noticed

You do not need to diagnose the problem before contacting us. A description of what you can see, hear or experience is more useful than guessing which part needs replacing. Tell us when it started, whether it is constant or intermittent and whether other fixtures or rooms are affected.

Mention earlier repairs or products used, even if they did not help. For equipment faults, a visible model label or fault code can be useful if you can read it safely without opening covers.

  • Where is the issue and when does it happen?
  • Is it affecting one fixture, one room or the whole property?
  • What work or changes happened before it started?

Arrange access and authorization

Tell us who will be at the property and who can approve the work. If you rent, confirm permission with the landlord or property manager before arranging billable repairs. For a shared or commercial building, discuss any access rules with the responsible contact.

Let us know about parking, keys, building entry, occupants and any work-area restrictions. If the equipment is safely accessible, clear ordinary stored items from around it. Do not enter a hazardous area to prepare for the visit.

Ask what the visit includes

Before agreeing to a visit, ask whether it is an assessment, a planned repair or an installation; what charges apply; and what happens if additional work is found. An initial conversation is not always enough to establish a final price.

If you are supplying a fixture or appliance, discuss the product and specifications before buying or booking. Compatibility, missing parts and access can affect the job.

Keep the next step clear

At the end of the discussion, confirm the agreed scope, timing, contact details and anything you need to provide. After service, ask what work was completed, whether follow-up is recommended and what product or workmanship terms apply.

For a worsening problem, use the telephone rather than waiting for an online enquiry. A request form does not confirm an appointment or an arrival time.
